Heidi Summer Book Club (Helen Dole English Translation)
After visiting the Swiss Alps and the setting that inspired Johanna Spyri’s timeless classic, my daughter & I would like to invite Middle School students to join us in a special Summer Book Club, as we read together this beautiful tale of redemption & healing.
This will be a LIVE discussion class on Google Meet, and attendance is encouraged for all four meetings, although if a student needs to miss a meeting, it will be recorded for private viewing.
This course meets Wednesdays in July from 2:00 to 3:30 Central for 4 weeks. Limited to 10 spots.
Meeting dates: July 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
A note on translation: As we are reading an English translation, it is important to note that translations vary significantly, some practically abridging the story & simplifying the original language. After much research, I’ve decided to select the Helen B. Dole translation, which is available in the public domain or at Barnes & Noble.
(Note: Summer Camps & Seminars are Nonrefundable, but spots can be transferred.)
