Creative Writing Camp II
Storyweaver Tween & Teen Creative Writing Summer Camps will ignite the imagination in student writers while developing literacy skills, building confidence, and encouraging creativity. Our online Creative Writing Camps will be filled with playful writing activities, focused lessons, and so much more! Each student will compose & revise/workshop a piece of short fiction during the camp, which will meet virtually on Google Meet.
Creative Writing Camp II is for students who completed “Creative Writing Camp I” or are experienced fiction writers. CW II Students will have about 3 hours of “prep work” before camp starts on Monday, which will be provided in advance.
How is CWII different? This camp is for those students who want to dive deeper into the elements of storytelling and develop their pieces with more polish. We will begin the week by analyzing the elements/structure/style of 3 famous short stories: “Through the Tunnel,” “The Garden Party,” and “The Most Dangerous Game.” Next, students will strategically plan, write, and ultimately, workshop their own pieces of short fiction. I will encourage them to pursue writing competitions and/or publication at the end of the week.
This weeklong camp runs Monday - Friday from 10:00 - 11:30 Central. Limited to 10 spots per week.
*For ages 12 to 17. Please expect some assignments outside of camp time, so students can successfully complete their stories.
(Note: Summer Camps & Seminars are Nonrefundable, but spots can be transferred.)
