What This Course Offers:
My entire teaching career has been guiding students through classic literature. But over the last two years, after leaving an elite private school & experiencing existential dread upon the introduction of AI in education, I dug deeper than ever, researching how we read great books & what helps literature come alive for modern readers. This signature course emerged as the result of my labors, using one of my favorite novels as a model. I truly believe that reading classic literature ennobles both the mind and the heart.
“I took Calli's Art of Reading course last summer and loved it. It was so helpful for me as I planned out my homeschool literature co-op class for the coming year, and of course, reading with my own kids at home. The course is so well put together, thorough, and engaging. I loved every minute of it and have applied so much of what I learned to my teaching. I can't wait for the next one she offers!”
- Sloane Simon, Home Educator & Co-op Literature Teacher
“The Art of Reading challenged me and changed the way I approach reading literature. Not only did Jane Eyre quickly become one of my all-time favorite novels, but I learned to read and appreciate great literature at a deeper, more thoughtful level.”
- Patricia Wilson, Home Educator
This signature course emerged as a labor of love after years of contemplating “how to read well” & how to guide others toward an appreciation of classic literature. Using Jane Eyre as a model, we focus on the novel literary form, while I serve as guide, providing tips and tools for future reading experiences. This course is ideal for homeschooling mothers, co-op English teachers, or as a 6-week High School Curriculum. Note: This purchase provides access to recordings of a previously live class.
